I can’t believe that it is already three months since Melanie and Allan’s wedding in July! As I sit here with the rain pounding down outside and the central heating turned up high the fantastic weather of this summer is already becoming a distant memory. The 20th July was a great day for a wedding, not too hot, not cold and although we did not get the lovely evening sunset I was hoping for we also did not get any rain so you can’t complain!
The day started with trips to Feathers for hair and The Spa for nails and make-up. I like to tell the story of a wedding day through my pictures so I was there to capture events as they happened. Here are a few of the photographs of the bridal preparations and some detail shots……
Mel looked stunning in her dress and the look was completed by the flowers designed by Floral Couture. I also managed to get some shots of the other key people of the day. First of all the groom Allan who was getting ready with his best man Jim and the two boys Dylan and Alfie. And then Mel’s other children Oliver, the eldest, who had the honour of giving his mum away and Lily who performed the role of cute bridesmaid to perfection!
Once everyone was ready it was to All Saints Church, Maldon for the ceremony with Mel arriving in style in a white Rolls Royce. I always enjoy being the wedding photographer at All Saints Church, its in my home town and it is where one of my sisters got married many years ago. It’s a really nice Church with great light for photography and it feels good being on home ground!
After confetti and congratulations it was onto The Bull, at Great Totham, Essex for the wedding breakfast and evening reception. This was my first time at The Bull as the wedding photographer and I have to say that it is a really nice venue. It is well known for fine cuisine and I’m happy to report that it more than lived up to its reputation for great quality food!
A few weeks before the wedding Mel and Allan did a Pre-Wedding photo shoot with me and then selected one of the images to have as a signature board at the reception. This is a modern twist on the more traditional guest book whereby the couple have their friends and family sign the mount on a framed picture. Once the day is over they then have a unique piece of art for their home signed by the wedding guests which is a great keepsake!
Following the fine dining the guests were well entertained by the speeches!
And of course we made a little time for some romantic shots of the newly weds ………………………………….
……………… finishing off with the first dance as man and wife…..
These are just a few of the images of Mel and Allan’s day which I hope will provide the couple with many happy memories for years to come. Please feel free to leave any comments or feedback – it would be much appreciated!
Thank you.
Really nice Andy…look forward to seeing more of Andy Jones work. How about a Canoe Cove shoot December 2014…..? Greetings to the family!
Thanks John – a photo shoot at Canoe Cove would be great – we are thinking maybe next July or August rather than December – either way it would be great to be back in JA!
Some unusual shots amongst those Andy, and a reminder that B/W can be quite stunning. Well done.
Thanks John – appreciate you taking the time to comment – I’ve always loved B&W!
You’ve done a really lovely job Andy, some special moments captured there.
Thanks Ravinder – much appreciated!
